Aerial Photography

I am an established and award-winning photographer, and I offer aerial photography services to my clients. As a licensed pilot myself, I’m uniquely qualified to work efficiently with the pilot to ensure the best images are obtained.

Combining technical excellence with an artistic eye, I find the angles and light that best represent your project, ensuring that your investment is shown off to its full potential.

My aerial work is usually made from an oblique angle which makes for the most visually interesting photographs, and better shows the context of the subject. However, I can also provide vertical imagery suitable for surveys etc. for an additional fee.

I’ve worked extensively with the Commissioners of Irish Lights to photograph lighthouses around the coast and was also the only Irish photographer to travel to Iceland to shoot the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull volcano from the air. I’m passionate about my photography and will bring that passion to your project as well.

How I work

I work with a variety of cameras, including the Phase One IQ180 which is the highest resolution camera in the world. Coupled with state-of-the-art lenses, I can deliver absolutely crisp and detailed photographs of your subject. At 80 megapixels, the clarity and resolution are second to none. Perfect for aerial surveying, having such resolution also allows billboard sized prints to be produced with unparalleled detail.

To give a sense of the detail available, have a look at the image on the left. It’s Kinsale. At the bottom of the frame I’ve highlighted a house under construction. Click on it to see a larger version. Now take a look at the image on the right – it’s a detailed section of the first photograph showing the house only. Again, click on it for a bigger version. This sort of resolution is unequalled.
